IG Index now offers clients a free spread betting app for the iPad.
This means that clients can now use spread betting apps tailored to run on the iPad as well as on Android, BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Phone 7.
Tim Hughes, IG Index Managing Director, commented, "The latest generation of smartphones has given IG Index the opportunity to drastically improve our mobile spread betting software. Not surprisingly, this has been accompanied by a significant rise in the number of IG Index clients using their mobiles to trade.

IG Index iPad App
Even if you are not an IG Index client you can still download the iPad app for free. The iPad application will let you access live market data for key markets like the FTSE 100.
Hughes added, "The iPad release puts us in a position to offer our clients a tailored app for each of the major mobile devices.
“Whilst the iPhone may be leading market share for us right now, in the three months since the launch of our Android app we have seen a high number of downloads. To improve the IG Index mobile spread betting service we have also launched our Windows Phone 7 app.
“It is far too early to suggest that desktop dealing has had its day, nevertheless clients are more than eager to try complementary spread betting platforms."
