At a time when most spread betting firms are trimming the fat, Spreadex has acquired Cantor Index's non-equities spread betting clients – http://www.cleanfinancial.com/cantor_index_sells_… – after taking on the MF Global Spreads and extrabet client bases, Spreadex recorded record profits in 2012. Another shrewd move by Spreadex?

Readers should note that there’s a chunky spread and even chunkier 50% margin on the Bitcoin market. Having said that, at the moment, we haven’t seen many other places where you can spread bet on the market.

Warning, it can be a very volatile market.

Spreadex did have a Bitcoin market but they opened that market when it was around $200.

As we know the BTC price climbed rapidly and everyone was buying it. That meant that Spreadex's riskbook on the market got filled very quickly (and there was nowhere for them to hedge the risk off).

Therefore they stopped taking any new trades and effectively closed their market (naturally, those investors with open positions were allowed to close out their trades).

It's still a very volatile market and so the spread betting and CFD firms are rather wary of it.

Having said that, you can still speculate on BTC with Plus500 and AVATrade.

A warning though, because the firms are still being cautious, the spreads are pretty wide, e.g. Plus500 are currently trading it at $383.50 – 390.50.

can scalping in the spreadex financiales?

You could try but I don’t think Spreadex like it. They might be like Capital Spreads and Financial Spreads where scalping is loss making for the company and so they stop it quite quickly.

You might be better off with InterTrader through their 'InterTrader Direct'. brand i.e. MT4. http://www.cleanfinancial.com/inter_trader.php

I've got some of their adverts on my desk saying that scalping is OK.

Just to confirm that is through their 'InterTrader Direct' platform (not the InterTrader platform).
