Editor's comment: the FXCM spread betting service only has 60 or so markets, however if you read the spread betting industry reports these markets cover over 90% of all trades. Nevertheless, it would be nice to see some of the leading equities on the platform.

Editor's comment: FXCM now have about 70-80 spread betting markets which still isn't many compared to most spreads firms but their forex offering is looking popular.

According to the 2013 Investment Trends report, FXCM is still the largest forex provider in the United States.

Editor's comment: While we aren't always that positive about the FXCM spread betting markets (and spreads) it looks like a lot of people do like their, mostly forex based, service.

In August, the FXCM retail customers, i.e. small investors like you and me, traded $307bn, that's $14.6bn per day. Not too shabby.

Editor's comment: At the 2013 MoneyAM Awards, FXCM picked up the award for 'Best Online FX Provider'.

Their overall spread betting service could certainly be improved but they might not be that bothered given that their main FX product has picked up yet another award.
