Editor’s comment: We have now added the Capital Spreads prices for their most popular markets, please see http://www.cleanfinancial.com/capital_spreads.php… – note these are indicative prices for both their financial spread betting and CFD markets.
Good platform for beginners, advanced traders might prefer ig. The lack of account history is poor. Just show me all my trades and overnight costs please. My cmc account goes 3+ years back, not that I'm recommending cmc, at least not until they sort the design of their site out.
Editor's comment: Good iPhone app (v1.5.16). Quick log in and simple navigation for most markets.
The search could be improved though. For the FTSE 250 index you need to search for the 'UK mid 250' rather than 'UK 250' or 'FTSE 250'. Having said that, searching/navigating via 'groups' is simple enough.
Easy to place a trade, update orders and check charts. Although, as with all spreads firms, placing trades is far easier than making a profit.
Editor's comment: And for those who are interested, London Capital Group (LCG), who own Capital Spreads, have improved their profit levels for H1 to 30 June 2013. Profits are circa £3.1m, compared to £2.1m for H1 2012 and a loss of £2.3m for H2 2012.
A lot of the improvement has come from increased volatility, i.e. we all trade more and they make more in commissions.
But they've also disposed of their loss making Australian business and are in the midst of disposing of the loss making ProSpreads.
The latest LCG statement is here http://www.cleanfinancial.com/london_capital_grou….
Editor's comment: It's coming to the end of the awards season and a quick 'congrats' to Capital Spreads for picking up the MoneyAM award for Best Mobile/Tablet App.
Editor's comment: It's all happening now on Devonshire Square. Capital Spreads have moved to their new 'Swan' platform. A little birdy tells me that their "migration went as well as could be hoped".
They have also released new iPhone and Android trading apps.
If anyone has any feedback on the new platforms, please let us know.
sir i want to bet on spread in usd inr in option kindly guide me what is the procedure and how can i start with minimum amt with tightest spread via automated software
Take a look at InterTrader – http://www.cleanfinancial.com/inter_trader.php. They have spread betting prices via their MT4 platform (i.e. for automated software) and you can have an account based in US dollars. Thanks, Jacob.
It's not just Financial Spreads who are offering an NFP market, the boys and girls at Capital Spreads and InterTrader are also offering one (no real surprises there when they are all on pretty much the same platform) – http://www.cleanfinancial.com/guide_to_the_nfp_sp…
Capital Spreads are running two new deposit based offers for new clients. If you already have an account but you've not traded with them for a while then give their Customer Service team a call, +44 (0)20 7456 7020, they might let you take part. For more details see: http://www.cleanfinancial.com/capital_spreads.php…. Thanks Jacob.
Capital Spreads are also running new Loyalty Rebate scheme. It looks rather similar to the InterTrader rebate scheme where you can get up to 12.5% of your trading costs back, for more details see: http://www.cleanfinancial.com/capital_spreads.php….
Note, the rebate scheme is only available to UK clients but we've been told that's due to the complexity of most overseas 'competition / offer' rules rather than any kind of favouritism.
Thanks Jacob.
Hello every body…..i want to open live account with capital spread but every time i got a message that we area unable to offer you account….what is the criteria or some eligibility for opening live account…can any one help me
Hi
This is normally because the company in question:
1) Cannot automatically verify your personal details or your address, or
2) You told them you don't have enough money, and/or
3) You don't have enough trading experience.
These are UK regulatory issues, it's not because Capital Spreads don't like you.
For more details on the 'how and why applications take so long / get declined' – see our spread betting account page – http://www.cleanfinancial.com/spreadbettingaccoun…
I would call them – the Capital Spreads customer service number is +44 (0)20 7456 7020.
Ask them why you were automatically declined.
They might just ask you to email / fax: proof of address, a bank statement and photo ID.
If you can do that then hopefully they can open your account quite quickly.
Of course, if you don't have much trading experience, then high risk products like CFD trading and spread betting might not be for you. I think they are obliged to reject your application.
Jake
Just a side note – your name here is 'Ifi'.
I'm not sure if that's your real name but in English 'Iffy' also means 'potential dishonest'. The Capital Spreads account opening team might query your application more than normal.

Capital Spreads Changing Platform and Brand
Editor's comment: OK, Capital Spreads is morphing it's brand into 'LCG', I guess that makes sense to them. I doesn't bother me.
However, they are also changing platform and that is a concern. Why fix something that isn't broken?
There is a reason why the Capital Spreads platform has won a lot of awards for “most user-friendly platform” and, for once, it's not just because a company has bought a lot of advertising the relevant company/awards ceremony.
For me, the Capital Spreads platform was THE user-friendly spread betting platform. Quite a few other platforms were modelled on it (or whitelabels of it).
I do hope they know what they are doing with the new platform, I haven't traded on it yet but it does look like a step backwards.
Jake
