The NASDAQ is set to come under further pressure after poor results from IBM and Google.

Janet Yellen has also taken a more dovish stance by suggesting that interest rates will remain at ultra-low levels for an indefinate period.

Yen Rallies on Mixed Asian Economic Data



The yen is seeing some buying interest this morning after poor Chinese data and mixed Japanese figures.

The EUR/USD pair is drifting towards strategic support around $1.3772, with cable targetting potential resistance.

Following the long Easter weekend, European stocks are surging as they catch up with US and Asian markets.

In the pharmaceutical sector, separate M&A news involving GSK and AstraZeneca is helping to buoy the FTSE 100.
