03-Jan-14, 9:15am: The stock markets saw a very poor day yesterday and the Japan 225 is trading below support. However, a bigger story might be crude oil’s $5 fall. Gold is also seeing support. |

06-Jan-14, 9:55am: The FTSE 100 is currently bouncing off support and making a worrying series of lower highs. Interestingly, the declines in the Japan 225 have also been weighing on the USD/JPY pair despite wider US dollar strength. Crude oil continues to see significant falls after last week’s rising inventories numbers. |
06-Jan-14, 10:29am: The dollar is seeing some strength this morning, with some mixed European Services data, an outperformance from Spain and Alcoa set to kick off the US earnings season. This week will also see results from UK retailers for the key Christmas trading period. |
07-Jan-14, 9:29am: The larger stock indices are looking weaker but in the forex markets there are some more interesting moves. USD/JPY is also looking weaker despite the fact that dollar wasn’t that strong yesterday. The EUR/USD market has been bouncing nicely off the technical levels. Elsewhere, gold is also looking volatile. |
