In this week’s video, Bill Hubard, Chief Economist of Markets.com, gives some interesting views, How Would Dollar/Yen React to a Larger Conflict in Syria?.

06-Sep-13, 12:58pm: Still trying to estimate the NFP figure?

There are a few estimates/guesses(?) on Twitter, #GuessNFP

(Not sure, but CMC might be offering a small prize if you get it right).

Update by Gordon Childs, Editor,
06-Sep-13, 6:29pm: Here is a look the markets and how they reacted to the non-farm payrolls.

A positive NFP number should have been dollar negative and, likewise, a good number should have been dollar positive.

What happened? Well the video takes you through the reaction. The first 14 minutes looks at the markets before the new data.

For the market reaction skip to 14:35.

The actual number was poor and so were revisions to the previous NFP data. The reaction in the forex markets has been very interesting.
