The New Spread Betting Advert
Err…
Whether the new paddy power trader advert appeals to traders and private investors remains to be seen. Either way it looks like paddy power are back to their best at putting out adverts that tread a fine line.

According to an inside source finding a person of small stature to star in their recent paddy power trader advertising campaign was a tough job.

To help get the message out about Paddy Power’s new Financial Spread Betting arm the new advertising campaign from paddypowertrader.com hangs on the tagline; “Who says you can’t make money being short?” It features a 3′ 11′ model in full city garb being photographed alongside two ‘glamorous models’ in the back of a limo.

Paddy Power is famed on producing fun and innovative advertising that gets noticed (and occasionally banned). This new ‘Being Short’ campaign looks set to continue that long tradition.

Davin McAnaney, Commercial Manager of paddypowertrader.com, said:

Despite searching high and low, we couldn’t believe how difficult it was to hire a little person here in Ireland. It was impossible around Christmas time to get an actor to do the job, when Snow White has seven dwarves in tow at each pantomime the supply is only going to stretch so far. The main thing was finding the right tiny star to fill the boots of a Wall St. mogul in the photos. After all, posing with these gorgeous girls, it is nice work if you can get it.”

In the end Londoner Graham Hughes came over to Dublin and has done a great job on the campaign. We’ve had a lot of fun shooting the adverts, the results look great and it just goes to prove that paddypowertrader.com is always prepared to go to new heights to find the right people to do the job

Paddy Power’s theme for the campaign reflects Financial Spread Betting jargon where ‘going short’ means to bet in favour of falling markets. Going short therefore permits traders to make money even in volatile or falling markets. Being short in Spread Betting can be a winning strategy.”
