UK Share Trading

FTSE 100 slid 0.6% to close at 5,627.3.
Engineering group, Meggitt gained 2.6%, on the prospect of new orders from the Farnborough Air Show.
Polymetal International rose 2.1%, following a rise in gold prices.
BAE Systems rallied 1.4%, amid reports that it was the frontrunner to bag a $7 billion contract from the US air force.
Rolls-Royce added 1.0%, as it signed a deal with Malaysia Airlines for services support for the Trent 900 engines.
Engineering conglomerate, IMI dropped 3.3%, amid fears that euro-zone’s debt crisis would impact its earnings.
Burberry Group declined 2.6%, on concerns over a downturn in Chinese economy.
Xstrata dropped 2.2%, on a media report that the shareholder vote on its proposed merger with Glencore might be delayed until September.
