UK Share Trading
- FTSE 100 edged 0.4% lower to 5,745.3.
- Fresnillo gained 3.2%, after the company reported that its first-quarter gold production climbed 26% to 121,792 ounces.
- Severn Trent climbed 3.1%, after Credit Suisse Group included the stock among in its “most preferred regulated long stock” list.
- Weir Group rose 2.4%, after Halliburton played down the impact of rigs shifting from natural gas to oil.
- Tullow Oil added 2.4%, amid optimism that a discovery in Kenya had the potential to eclipse its previous finds.
- Man Group tumbled 7.4%, after the company reported a drop in assets at its flagship AHL Diversified fund in the last week.
- Resolution, Legal and General, BAE Systems, Kazakhmys and Old mutual sank between 4.0% and 5.9%, as the stocks traded ex-dividend.
- Banking stocks, Lloyds Banking Group, RBS and Barclays dropped between 2.9% and 3.2%, after data showed that bad loans at Spanish banks had surged in February.
