• Equities finished higher in a late stage rally as AIG announced an agreement with the Fed to repay its credit line. As a result co. shares which were halted for the last 30 minutes of trade finished lower (-3.71%). However, financials and techs led the S&P 500, while basic materials and utilities underperformed.
  
  At the closing bell the DJIA closed up 0.12% at 11372.48, the S&P 500 closed up 0.37% at 1228.28, highest level since September 2008, and the NASDAQ 100 closed up 0.51% at 2200.16.
  
  
• Teva – Co. announced successful results of Phase 3 study with oral Laquinimod for multiple sclerosis. The study shows patients treated with 0.6 mg daily oral Laquinimod experienced statistically significant reduction. (RTRS)
  
  
• AIG - Co. says entered into a master transaction agreement, agrees to repay Fed credit line in deal with US Treasury and repayment amount under line USD 20bn as of Sept. 30. Adds it is in pact with Treasury, FRBNY to recapitalise co. and is to have right to raise up to USD 3bn by Aug. 15 in offering and also to have right to raise up to added USD 4bn with Treasury OK.
