Market Summary
- FTSE 100 slid 0.6% to close at 5,869.6.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index closed 0.5% lower at 1,083.5.
- DJIA closed 0.3% lower at 13,197.7. NASDAQ ended 0.1% lower at 3,120.4. S&P 500 closed 0.3% lower at 1,412.5.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 1.0% lower at 10,151.3.
- In Asia, crude oil for May delivery is trading 0.26% or $0.28 lower at $106.75 per barrel.
- At 0500 BST today, the GBP is trading marginally higher against the USD at $1.5958, marginally higher against the EUR at €1.1972, and 0.1% lower against the JPY at ¥132.39.
