Market Summary
- FTSE 100 rose 0.5% to end at 5,748.7.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index added 0.2% to 1,044.3.
- DJIA climbed 0.9% to end at 13,204.6. NASDAQ rose 0.7% to settle at 3,050.6. S&P 500 advanced 0.7% to close at 1,400.0.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 0.1% lower at 9,551.1.
- In Asia, crude oil for June delivery is trading 0.41% or $0.43 lower at $104.12 per barrel.
- At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading marginally higher against the USD at $1.6184, 0.1% lower against the EUR at €1.2258, and 0.2% lower against the JPY at ¥130.88.
