Market Summary
- FTSE 100 edged up 0.2% to close at 5,718.9.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index added 1.0% to end at 1,042.6.
- DJIA added 0.7% to settle at 13,090.7. NASDAQ surged 2.3% to close at 3,029.6. S&P 500 rallied 1.4% to end at 1,390.7.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 0.1% higher at 9,571.6.
- In Asia, crude oil for June delivery is trading marginally lower at $104.07 per barrel.
- At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading marginally lower against the USD at $1.6173, marginally lower against the EUR at €1.2225, and 0.2% lower against the JPY at ¥131.26.
