Market Summary
- FTSE 100 edged down 0.1% to close at 5,662.4.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index added 0.1% to 1,043.7.
- DJIA slid 0.4% to settle at 12,727.2. NASDAQ lost 0.4% to close at 2,896.9. S&P 500 edged down 0.2% to end at 1,353.6.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 0.6% higher, at 8,774.5.
- In Asia, crude oil for August delivery is trading 0.1% or $0.11 higher at $88.54 per barrel.
- At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading 0.2% higher against the USD at $1.5665, slightly higher against the EUR at € 1.2740, and 0.3% higher against the JPY at ¥ 123.62.
