Market Summary
- FTSE 100 shed 0.1%, to close at 5,899.9.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index declined 0.2% to close at 1,069.8.
- DJIA closed marginally higher to settle at 12,878.3. NASDAQ ended marginally higher to end at 2,931.8. S&P 500 closed 0.1% lower at 1,350.5.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 2.4% higher, at 9,267.9.
- In Asia, crude oil for March delivery is trading 0.7% or $0.71 higher at $101.45 per barrel.
- At 0400 GMT today, the GBP is trading 0.2% higher against the USD at $1.5720, 0.1% lower against the EUR at €1.1934 and 0.4% higher against the JPY at ¥123.48.
