Market Summary
- FTSE 100 surged 1.1% to close at 5,955.9.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index advanced 1.7% to 1,095.3.
- DJIA surged 1.7% to close at 13,177.7. NASDAQ jumped 1.9% to settle at 3,039.9. S&P 500 soared 1.8% to end at 1,396.0.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 1.7% higher at 10,068.8.
- In Asia, crude oil for April delivery is trading 0.1% or $0.10 higher at $106.81 per barrel.
- At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading 0.1% lower against the USD at $1.5694, marginally lower against the EUR at €1.2002, and 0.2% higher against the JPY at ¥130.47.
