Market Summary

FTSE 100 rallied 1.3% to close at 5,710.5.
FTSEurofirst 300 index gained 1.0% to end at 1,044.2.
DJIA closed 1.4% higher at 12,986.6. NASDAQ ended 1.3% higher at 3,055.6. S&P 500 closed 1.4% higher at 1,387.6.
Nikkei 225 index is trading 1.3% higher at 9,644.2.
In Asia, crude oil for May delivery is trading 0.3% or $0.34 lower at $103.30 per barrel.
At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading 0.1% lower against the USD at $1.5942, marginally higher against the EUR at €1.2105, and 0.1% higher against the JPY at ¥129.27.
