Market Summary
- FTSE 100 advanced 0.5% to close at 5,887.5.
- FTSEurofirst 300 index rose 0.4% to end at 1,079.4.
- DJIA closed 0.1% higher to settle at 12,922.0. NASDAQ ended 0.6% higher at 2,988.3. S&P 500 added 0.4% to end at 1,370.9.
- Nikkei 225 index is trading 0.3% higher at 9,958.7.
- In Asia, crude oil for April delivery is trading 0.54% or $0.58 lower at $106.82 per barrel.
- At 0400 BST today, the GBP is trading marginally higher against the USD at $1.5673, 0.1% higher against the EUR at €1.1967, and 0.2% lower against the JPY at ¥128.98.
