Week Commencing 12 May 08

Also in the UK, traders are eagerly awaiting the Bank of England’s Quarterly Inflation Report on Wednesday morning. Europe sees the release of Q1 GDP while attention in the US will focus on retail sales and housing starts. Earnings from Barclays, HSBC and Alliance & Leicester should generate some excitement.
If you’re spread trading forex watch out for speeches from several Fed members on Tuesday afternoon and Bernanke again on Thursday.
Don’t forget FTSE option expiry on Friday morning; this may cause some extra volatility in the market.
